Canadian artist Micah Lexier covered this subway stop with 17,000 hand-laid tiles, each bearing one of 3,400 unique handwriting samples gathered from the surrounding community back in 1997. Ampersand is a meditation on what connects us: individual voices woven together into something undeniably collective.
